The Design-Bid-Build Process
After the unparalleled success of last year's "How to Construct a Snowman," Gontram Architecture and G5 Design-Build have followed Hollywood's age-old tradition and produced a sequel. This entertaining romp through the complex design-bid-build process follows little Ashley as she embarks on trying to build her snowman. As she learned from Part I (last year's video), she has obtained the proper permits and paid her fees. She now learns from Ned Ledbetter, Senior Zoning Enforcement Officer, that those steps were just the beginning. Now she has to deal with bidding contractors, and the adventure of the "Design-Bid-Build" process. Yikes!
A little background information:
Since the inception of Gontram Architecture, we've been creating our own custom Holiday Greeting Cards, each year featuring a different project. You can see examples of these HERE.
In 2009, however, we decided to do something a bit more fun, saving a few trees and some fossil fuels along the way.
A short film entitled, "How to Construct a Snowman, A Zoning Enforcement Officer's Perspective" was born. Follow Ned Ledbetter as he describes the "process" for properly permitting a snowman. This is a light-hearted jab at the tremendous (and often over-bearing) process that Gontram Architecture navigates on a daily basis.
